The Kings are a team desperate enough to make a move like this, especially without giving up any long term pieces besides a 2nd round pick. If it doesn't work, Jimmy will most likely decline his PO anyway and they'll have freed up some future cap room.
DeRozan is good enough to replace Butler and at least help Miami remain competitive, which seems to be what they want to do.
