An offseason plan with trade and draft explanation, 15 man lineup after all transaction, and thoughts on this new-look team ~ feel free to leave comments on the plan!
Trade:
Mavs: DFS, 22nd pick
Nets: Davis Bertans, 10th pick
Nets were kinda hving depth on wings alrdy, they can afford trading DFS away, and also they can have higher chance on drafting a more sensational talent, which helps their future much especially when it's so unknown now
Draft:
22nd pick: Dereck Lively
FA:
Resign Kyrie Irving 4 years 198M
Resign Dwight Powell 2 year 10M
Resign Frank Ntilikina 1 year minimum
Resign Theo Pinson 1 year minimum
Justice Winslow 1 year minimum
Wesley Matthews 1 year minimum
Lineup:
Starting:
Luka Kyrie Bullock DFS Powell
Bench:
Hardy Green THJ Kleber Lively
Reserves:
Ntilikina Matthews Pinson Winslow McGee
Conclusion:
It was a super disappointing 2nd half of the season last year, defensively this team just became a bum
Well this trade gets them DFS, their frontcourt member 1 year ago, who was key defending and shooting
This starting lineup basically is what Mavs have 1 year ago, but Kyrie instead of Dinwiddie, should make them a better than anyways (don’t tell me Dinshittie > Kyrie)
For the bench, a very bright spot is Mavs will still add a young talent in, and it will be dream scenario if they can actually get Lively in to pair up with Luka long term, great rim protector
Hardy should play full 6th man mins this season, tgt with Josh Green, this Mavs team hv got themselves some pieces for the future
I can see this Mavs team going at least 5th seed, or higher, pls don’t flop again, i see no reason it will
