Who says no first?

If the trade rumors are correct on Young's & Zion's trade value is so low, I could see a world where this trade can go through.

First thing is that the Lakers and the bucks would give up their '33 picks ( La to Bucks) and (Bucks to Portland).

Secondly, the Avdija trade piece does come out out of left field. If for some reason by the end of the year they are looking to cut their losses (which probably won't happen) or they have found a better person to run the offense, this would be the best way to cut ties on their losses and still bet on the bucks not being good by the later years.

Going more into the point on Young, if they find him too expensive and want some value off of him, getting Reeves out of all people would be the best running mate to their current roster. The only hard issue is they would have to give up the Pelican's pick in a stacked class to give the best shot at the Thunder. Another point to this would be if there are concerns with Giannis and Johnson's fit on the court, they might want to go with the safer option with Reeves.

Now we get to Zion, ... This is one of the best trade offers the pels would receive for him, and the bucks would gladly take on his non guaranteed contract if it means a slight hope of a toned down version of him and a healthier one at that (this is just a bunch of rambling to say we don't truly need him, we want the pick.

Finally for the draft comp, this is just as a fail safe tbh, I do not think they would get all of this outside of really pushing for the '26 pick and the laker's swaps, but all in all this is almost the best case scenario for all of the teams talked about in this post
