What I think the Blazers need most are two types of players:
The first is a player who can play the 4–5 positions, in the style of JJJ, Chet, KAT, Mobley, Naz Reid, AD, or Giannis — someone who can defend and also space the floor a little bit.
Especially after seeing Clingan’s issues in the playoffs, and considering that we can’t rely on Robert Williams’ health, while Yang Hansen unfortunately isn’t currently a player who can take on significant minutes.
I think the more realistic options are KAT, Mobley, and Naz Reid in a Giannis trade. out of those three I’d prefer trying to make a trade with Cleveland for Mobley.
The second type of player is a movement shooter who can also defend pretty well. I think AJ could fit perfectly, pull defenders with him, and open up the paint for Deni.
Starting lineup: Deni, Lillard, Camara, Mobley, Clingan. Second unit: Holiday, Scott, AJ Green, Murray, Robert Williams. Third unit: Blake Wesley, Caleb Love, Vic, Sissoko, and Hansen.
Cleveland would become a serious contender with Harden, Mitchell, and Giannis, plus all the shooters around them.
Milwaukee would go into a rebuild and bet on Sharpe’s star potential, along with getting their picks and future assets back.
