Why the Heat do this:

If they are moving on from Jimmy its tough to trade these massive contracts, so they bring in Beal who is younger, and (ironically) healthier than Jimmy. Beal in addition to being very close with Bam, brings a downhill driving attack that Miami has been missing to unlock their 3pt shooting. Moving Herro is about removing duplication and getting back wing depth that they are losing moving on from Jimmy. DFS has heat culture and fits well with this roster. They pick up a Phoenix's first round pick to compensate for the value they are giving up trading Herro.

Why Brooklyn does this:

Brooklyn has already traded most of their picks so they have a strong incentive to be competitive. This trade they bring in a #1 scoring option, allowing Mikal to move back into the #2 role with more energy to focus on defense. They also lacked size in a big way so bringing in Nurkic gives them a lot more size in the front court.

Why Phoenix does this:

There was too much overlap in skillset with Booker and Beal and they weren't able to successfully maximize both players. Adding a player like Butler gives them the alpha personality that is lacking, and also helps with their defense. It also allows them to bring in a more traditional point guard without making them too small. The risk is that they are basically relying on minimum guys at the Center position, but it seems like a risk they would be willing to take.
