Thunder also receive a 2033 Second Rounder
————————————————————————— Trade #1-
Pelicans select Christian Anderson
Trade Analysis- The Pelicans move back into the first round without giving up a ridiculous amount and also absorb a proven rotational wing in Aaron Wiggins. Considering their need to continue adding controllable talent and maintain flexibility, this feels like one of the cleaner value trades of the night. For New Orleans, the cost is manageable and the upside of securing another young piece makes this look like a dream scenario.
The Thunder once again lean into long-term asset management. Moving off Wiggins hurts from a depth standpoint, but his role shrank during playoff stretches and future salary pressure was likely approaching anyway. By pushing value into future firsts and seconds, OKC keeps its war chest loaded for whatever major opportunity appears next.
————————————————————————— Trade #2-
Pacers select Ugonna Onyenso
Trade Analysis- The Pacers continue retooling with hopes of returning to the top of the East once Haliburton is fully back in rhythm. They add one of the league’s better movement shooters in Isaiah Joe and also take a swing on Nikola Topic, whose development has been interrupted but whose upside still remains intriguing if healthy. Giving up Jarace Walker is not insignificant, but Indiana turns one uncertain piece into multiple players who could help sooner.
The Thunder once again show a willingness to reshuffle salary and roster construction before problems emerge. While moving Joe and Topic hurts depth, they acquire Jarace Walker who is a versatile forward and still carries long-term upside and also fits their mold of size and defensive flexibility.
