Nets/76ers/Warriors/Blazers Four-Team Trade

FAILED

Why the Nets do it? They get a player in Grant who is nearly as productive as Bridges while being team-controlled for a much longer time, eliminating the fear of him leaving in free agency, which can potentially happen with Bridges next offseason. Furthermore, they receive two additional first-round picks in the distant future, providing them an excellent opportunity to start a rebuild around 2027-2028 should they choose to do when they get control back of their first-round picks and have a handful of others they control around that same time.

Why the 76ers do it? They’re giving up a lot in this trade, however, Bridges is on an ideal contract for this team as he is not expensive and still controlled beyond this season, leaving the team with near-maximum salary cap space to pursue a free agent like Paul George or Kawhi Leonard this summer to pair alongside Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Bridges. Furthermore, the additions of Bridges, Paul, and O’Neale would improve their chances at a championship run this season while also putting them below the luxury tax threshold.

Why the Warriors do it? They acquire upgrades over Paul and Wiggins (not to mention ridding themselves of Wiggins’ egregious contract) without giving up too much is Moody and a future-first round pick. These two players would hopefully keep them competitive for a few more seasons should they re-sign Harris this upcoming offseason.

Why the Blazers do it? They acquire two future first-round picks and a nice, young player in Moody they can take a flyer on for two players who are good, but shouldn’t be a part of their long-term plans. Furthermore, they shed some salary off next year’s book while taking a flyer on Wiggins in hopes that he can regain his form from the previous couple of seasons.
