Trade 1
PHI: Doug McDermott
SAS: Tobias Harris, Isaiah Joe, 2023 2nd, & Potential 2029 More Favorable 1st Round Swap
Why? : With the addition of PJ Tucker to the squad & the Sixers reported interest in Eric Gordon, Tobias Harris should be moved in order to give PJ the starting PF spot & open up cap to land EG in a multi-team trade with Houston. Itβs obvious that general manager Daryl Morey is trying to build a Houston 2.0 squad in Philadelphia, but this time with Joel Embiid & Tyrese Maxey on board. In this deal, the 76ers get off Harrisβ contract & land a nice shooter in Doug McDermott while also generating over $25 million in extra money. And all it costs them is a young player in Isaiah Joe that theyβre not using, a second, & future swap. Not a bad move for both teams if you ask me. Philly creates the opportunity they need to go after Eric Gordon while the Spurs add another pick in a loaded 2023 draft class along with a potentially very valuable swap 7 years from now.

Trade 2
PHI: Eric Gordon
HOU: Matisse Thybulle
Why? : Like I said before, GM Morey is trying to build Houston 2.0 around Embiid & Maxey, so acquiring Eric Gordon obviously makes too much sense after creating the necessary cap to land him. Gordon is still playing great basketball at the age of 33 & just shot 41.2% from beyond the arc last season with the Rockets, something Thybulle didnβt even come close to. Now I know the defense of Matisse will be missed, but his offensive issues lead to him getting exposed in the playoffs, where it matters most. For Houston, they land a nice defensive piece in Thybulle whoβs still young at the ripe age of 25 years old & can be a long term piece going forward. He & Eason can most definitely form one of the best defensive duos in the league if everything goes well for the Rockets.

Trade 3
PHI: Patrick Beverley
UTA: Shake Milton & Furkan Korkmaz
Why? : Imagine having both Patrick Beverley & PJ Tucker on the same team, two defensive wasps who can guard, get into your head, & shoot the ball well from deep. Then youβve also got another defensive specialist in DeβAnthony Melton who can be slid to the two off the bench. The 76ers probably donβt need Beverley, but his intensity & leadership can definitely be valuable on a Philly squad trying to compete for a championship. And at the price theyβre getting him for here, this would be a solid move for Philadelphia, since Shake Milton & Furkan Korkmaz both didnβt show up in the postseason last year. As for the Utah side of it, Pat Bev doesnβt seem like a long term fit there so acquiring two nice depth pieces around Mitchell for the time being sounds like a nice idea.

Free Agent Addition
LaMarcus Aldridge
Why? : The 76ers need a legit backup center behind Joel Embiid & who better than LaMarcus Aldridge right now with all the big man left in the free agent market. LA is someone who can space the floor & give you a solid 14-15 minutes off the bench. Heβd be a nice fit next to both Harden & Maxeyβs abilities to attack the basket & either score or kick it out.

Conclusion
After all these moves, Philadelphia is left with a super scary rotation around their two stars in Embiid & Harden that can go 11-12 man deep & compete with the best of them. They add defense, 3pt shooting, chemistry/familiarity, & veteran leadership with these multiple moves here. I truly feel after this plan Iβve created for the Sixers, theyβll be the favorite to come out of the eastern conference & compete for a ring.
76ers Ideal Starting Lineup:
Maxey, Harden, Gordon, Tucker, & Embiid
Backup Five:
Beverley, Melton, House, Niang, & Aldridge
Rest Of Bench:
Queen, Springer, McDermott, Reed, & Bassey
