ROCKETS: You get Austin Reaves. You get your franchise point guard next to Reed, Amen, Jabari, Sengun. You give up a lot of assets but you get a super valuable future asset in New York's 2029 first round pick.

NETS: You retain access to your own 2027 first round pick. You trade to valuable Knicks picks, but the focus is that you have access to your near future. I like this trade. You don't have control over anyone elses future (New York's) except your own.

LAKERS: You build a sustainable team around Luka. You get two athletic 3-D wings in Trey Murphy and Tari Eason and you get an above average center with Nic Claxton, all without sacrificing assets. You get some nice wing depth with Martin and Haysmith too.

PELICANS: You want to build for the future, unless you have a franchise cornerstone like Shai, who's leading the younger guys to success, with someone like Trey Murphy, I think you have to maximize his value. You get three super valuable first round picks that you can use to accelerate the rebuild. You could entice a team like the Thunder who be trying to acquire later draft capital, and would be interested in trading their 2026 draft pick for a swap best in 2029 with Dallas and Phoenix or a 2031 Knicks first. You also get two expiring contracts.
