Obviously the Celtics are looking to improve there roster from last season. They just had a dud season and with the trade of Kemba Walker, there biggest weakness is at point guard. Celtics have a bunch of depth filled with younger player that have potential with bigger roles. They would be trading Nesmith and Moses Brown, as well as there starting center in Tristan Thompson to the Spurs for Dejounte Murray. Even with this trade, the Celtics still have an okay bench. Dejounte Murray’s playmaking ability along with his elite defense for a point guard could perform better than Kemba ever did on the Celtics. Dejounte would fit in perfectly.
For the Spurs, they would still have Lonnie Walker and Derrick White to fill in the two guard positions. They’d get a vet big man, a young big man, and a shooter on the wing. This would completely help there rebuild. They’d also gain a 2023 first and 2022 second to continue to help this young core out.
The Spurs can start there rebuild, the Celtics can fully content. The Celtics would also have enough money to resign Evan Fournier to be an elite scorer off the bench for them.
