Jaylen Brown is a great player. The one problem with him is he doesn't necessarily fit with the Celtics. Considering he is younger and slightly better, I think Tatum is the one the Celtics will build around. While they definitely could still work, I think we have seen the ceiling of the JT and JB partnership.
Why would the Celtics do this?
While it would take a lot to give up Jaylen Brown, I believe this is a great package for him. Three first-round picks, Dillon Brooks (a great 2-way wing), and Melton (good young guard). Brooks is a player who does take a lot of shots but he will still have ample offensive opportunities. Also, he is a committed and willing defender. Melton is a good defender, a lead guard, and a good shooter. He fits around Tatum and fits the same timeline as Tatum since he is also 23. The three first-round picks all can fill out the bench, but also can be used in a trade with Schroder to acquire a new guard if Schroder will be too expensive.

Why would the Grizzlies do this?
This trade accelerates the rebuild and gives Ja a second star to take some offensive pressure off of him. We know who Jaylen Brown is. He is an all-star, a 25 ppg scorer, a very good defender. He's clutch, he is someone who doesn't fade in the playoffs, a guy who has gotten better every year. He is a student of the game and loves learning, something I like to see from any player, especially a star. With the addition of Jaylen Brown, I believe the Grizz make themselves a contender immediately while also setting up their backcourt for the next 5-10 years.
