Why the PELS do that ?

Well with the Zion "Designated Rookie Max Extension" to kick his salary will be 33.5M on 23/24

With Ingram/CJ/JV/Graham/LNJ...+ the unnecessary Graham 12.1M + the QO Hayes 9.1M...

They are projected to ~175M on CAP 23/24 (without their next Rookie Scale + taken on account the fact they will waive for sure the Non Guaranteed Temple 5.4M)

But with offloading Graham and his 36.3M/3 guaranteed by taking an expiring here they will save

    12.1M on their CAP 23/24

    12.6m on their CAP 24/25

That won't allow them to sign player as FA because they would still be over CAP right...but don't forget NOLA is a SMALL Market and for a franchise's owners Small Market, the fact to save probably 25M + 25M on LUXURY on their next 2 CAP for an unnecessary player (CJ is their PG/1st playmaker and they have theor rookie #8 to let grow/develop as PG back up) this is NOT a useless thing to consider to save 50M !

So what they pay here :

2025 FRP BUCKS = only the part 1-4 because the 5-30 is already on the KNICKS pockets (so considering the fact that their is a LITTLE chance the BUCKS miss the Play Offs on 24/25...they don't lose a real thing right?)

Swap LAKERS 2023 = the real thing they pay because we all see the LAKERS this season so yes the KNICKS could have 2 chance to draft Top4 (considering the fact that we would tank too) with the KNICKS FRP and this swap on the scenario "LAKERS fail again and won't go on Play Offs"

Saric is not a bad expiring thing to have on your bench BTW

Why the SUNS do that ?

They need a 2nd scoring option to help Booker because CP3 is not capable to give more than 13ppg now (but have even more options with Randle to give maybe 13ppg and serve a 13/13)

So they get Randle and his 21/9/4 with an "ok" defense when he's on a good mood and to the SUNS, with CP3/Bridges/Ayton around him he will be covered and as beeing NOT the franchise player (he thinks that today...which is his biggest problem) but the 3rd (2nd on scoring) he would be jsut great for the SUNS !

They would have C.Johnson to be their 1st rotation at 3-4 (will be resign next summer probably with a 65M/4

PLUS they get IQ -> they would have a good "bench back court" with Payne/IQ

They offload the bad 20M/2 guaranteed Shamet and Crowder (won't playfor them aniway) and Saric and those 2 FRP

The 2023? They will land for sure at West Top3 for me and probably Top5 NBA so this is actually a futur pick #26-30 we are talking about...

The 2025? YES but they have to pay for this package...

They get the expiring Reed only because SIXERS have to offload him to make the trade work (but not a bad thing to have as expiring bench piece aniway)

Why the HORNETS do that ?

They offload the 61.5M/2 guaranteed Hayward by taking

    37M/2 guaranteed Fournier + 36.3M/3 guaranteed Graham = 73.3M/3

Yes they are taking +12M but would be better for them to have those 2 guys next season instead the injury prone Hayward for their rotation (pretty sure KOJ won't want resign and could get a good spot as FA with a better contract) so they would have their Pg back up + their 2-3 capable to shoot and slash on the 2nd unit pairing with Graham...sorry but Bouknight is a bust...for now)

Why the KNICKS do that ?

Well in this whole 5 team trade, i already explain some part that would explain that

They chose to go finally on the good way : clear the room to let Toppin start as PF

We NEED to know what kind of PF he could really be as a PF starter with 33mpg and really see what amount he would deserve on extension next summer !

PLUS we offload the 107/4 of the GOOD PLAYER Randle is (just not for US) because Toppin DON'T need the ball on his hand to operate on transition, cut, making 3s (he really improved on that), and can become a better defender than he is (already not "bad" as Randle is, the 2 are poor to "just ok" for now)

We give IQ but IMO on our will to develop our young core and try to compet AFTER this season (the right season to be present at the Draft especially when you are currently just a team 9-11 seed at best on the East Conf...) but IQ would be at best a real good 6th man 30mpg for a contender...which is a good thing to have for a contender (could serve a 15-6-6-1 with an AVG D) and will still be on a cheaper last rookie season on 23/24 (SUNS would have to chose to think on an extension or wait summer 2024 as RFA)

    So here we offload Randle 107M/4 (3+1 PO) - IQ cheap rookie contract 6.4M/2 - expiring D-Rose - 37M/2 Fournier (2+1 TO)

And we are getting the package 2y guaranteed Shamet 20M/2 - Harris 77M/2

PLUS the good things : the Draft Capital

    2 SUNS FRP 2023/2025 (probably a pick #26-30 + 1 unknown)

The rest of the BUCKS FRP 2025 (1-4) so we would have now all this FRP (we already have the 5-30)

The LAKERS Swap 2023 (could be good to have 2 chance to get a Top4 pick at this draft with our FRP, on that tanking/light young rebuild scenario that we would follow) because YES i bet on an other LAKERS failure scenario this season !

1 SIXERS Swap 2029 + their SRP 2023 (Most favorable of ATL, CHA and BRK)

That would also allow the KNICKS to clear CAP for summer 2024 (could be a great FA) and we have no need to have CAp for FA 2023 (poor FA aniway)

PLUS next summer we would have this expiring package Harris/Shamet 49.4M (the 2 last season Shamet aren't guaranteed at all) so we could have a "salary" to give if we would make a splash on a young star...after have select Wembanyama or Scoot or A.Thompson or a rookie right after this range...

We would have a huge Draft Capital to do so...

Why the SIXERS do that ?

They offload the 77M/2 Harris by taking the package 61.5M/2 Hayward + 10.1M/1 Crowder = 71.6M/2

They also offload the expiring Reed but only because they have to to make the trade work (not a huge thing to lose...)

This season they could chose to have Hayward/PJT/Embbid on their 5 (+ Crowder on their bench as SF/PF back up)

Or PJT/Crowder/Embbid on their 5 (+ Hayward on their bench to be the 6th man scorer with M.Morris to lead this 2nd unit)

PLUS they will decrease their 23/24 of 7.7M (difference between Harris expiring then VS Hayward expiring then) which mean they would save +15M on LUXURY too !

They could even chose to offer an other contract to Crowder (he would end a 3y contract so will acquire his BIRDS) -> i let the SIXERS fans decide what to do with the expiring Thybulle...

And for all THAT : they just have to pay 1 Swap (not even a FRP, a one they would'nt be abble to offer aniway) + 1 SRP 2023

I know that there are some things each "Team fan base" could discuss about

But when you make a FIVE team Trade Proposal this is arguably more difficult to make a 100% fair deal regarding all the timelines/need/good values got - bad values gave...

So please : explain precisely on what you could DISAGREE because THAT is only INTERESTING !
