Right now the Jazz’s biggest issue is their starting center being Nurkic, trading for Gafford fixes that. They also need a good mentor for Keyonte and DP and Kyrie would be perfect, he’s an offense heavy combo guard just like Keyonte and DP. Moving off of Lauri is in my opinion, a great move, he’s never been an elite player on a contending team and though he’s getting moved to a team with a lot of competition at his position, the Mavs can make a couple of trades or flip Lauri again.

The Jazz have potential to be one of the best teams in the league next year but they need to fill their current holes, the Mavs aren’t ready for contending though so it would be smart to take a step back once again and hope they can improve in 2028.
