Warriors Get a True Center, Nuggets Add Upside Wing, Cavs Gain Flexibility, Bulls Add Shooting

SUCCESS

Why would each team do this?

Denver uses its limited flexibility to add a young, athletic forward who can eventually take pressure off Jokic and Murray. Kuminga gives them size, transition scoring, and defensive upside—things the Nuggets lack on the wing. He doesn’t need the ball much, which fits Jokic-ball perfectly. The extra second-round pick is minor but helpful for future depth moves. This is a bet on upside without sacrificing core pieces.

Kuminga is finally trade-eligible and there’s growing belief that he does not plan to continue long-term in Golden State. Rather than risk losing value or dealing with a contract standoff, the Warriors flip him for a proven, win-now piece. Jarrett Allen fills a massive hole as a true center, bringing elite rim protection, rebounding, and vertical spacing that perfectly complements Steph and Draymond. This move signals Golden State choosing immediate contention over development.

The Cavs are struggling, and if this form continues, the value of their core players could drop significantly. Rather than waiting and risking a worse return later, Cleveland moves Jarrett Allen now to reset value. Zach Collins provides an expiring contract, helping reduce tax pressure and improve cap flexibility. The added first-round pick gives Cleveland future upside while allowing them to retool around Mobley without being locked into an expensive frontcourt.

Chicago adds an experienced wing who brings elite three-point shooting without disrupting the locker room or on-court chemistry. Cameron Johnson fits seamlessly next to the Bulls young core as a low-usage, high-impact spacer. Even with swap rights attached, a distant first-round pick maintains future flexibility while supporting a controlled retool rather than a full teardown.
