Why Lakers do this: Lakers flip rotation players for a starting caliber C and SF, but give up a pick in the process (fanspo has it as a swap to make the trade legal, but on draft day this trade is legal). It is a high price to pay, but gives them a window with Luka/Lebron/Reaves. Lakers would still need to fill out their roster with a TP MLE and vet mins.
Why the Nets do this: They do not need 5 picks in this draft lol. They get a valuable pick way in the future in exchange for Claxton and 19 this year.
Why the Heat do this: The heat clear the books for 2026 FA with Wiggins being traded and get the chance to make another selection in this draft.
Let me know your thoughts, but please be constructive. We all have different evaluations of players, but I think this is an all around win for each team.
