Welcome to another trade from kawntent sports. In this deal, Jonathan Kuminga and Jordan Poole head to the Pacers and Buddy Hield to the Warriors, with a few picks from this years draft being moved as well. Enjoy!

EDIT: I’ve just been informed that the Pacers have traded pick 29 for a package including a 2024 FRP from Denver. Please substitute pick 29 with that pick next year. Thanks!

Why the Pacers do this:

The Pacers are rumored to be looking for a power forward to pair with Myles Turner in the front court. I’ve seen John Collins rumors, but I think Kuminga is the better fit. He works better with the timelines of franchise cornerstones Bennedict Mathurin and Tyrese Haliburton, and has much higher potential than Collins. He also comes with the ability to take advantage of a team in a desperate situation, the Warriors. They are above the second apron right now and desperately need to shed salary, which might end up as Jordan Poole being sold for cheap. Poole would make a great sixth man spark plug long-term for Indy, allowing them to be great even if something happens to Haliburton or Mathurin, or even just when one is off the floor.

Why the Warriors do this:

The Warriors acquire three first round picks in this trade in exchange for just one. They acquire a top-seven pick that would be used on an available second-tier talent like Taylor Hendricks or Ausar Thompson. There are also likely to be major fallers on the draft board with the depth of this class, something the Warriors can take advantage of with the later draft picks. They also save a lot of money and acquire Buddy Hield to be a true third splash brother, the guy Jordan Poole thinks he is. They get solid value for both Kuminga and Poole and players who will help them long-term at a cheaper price.
