The NBA Arms Race is off and away after the Knicks acquired Kevin Durant and the Mavs acquired Kyrie Irving via trade with the Nets. see previous post The Suns currently hold the 6 seed in the West, holding a 28-26 record. Despite this, the West’s strong competition puts the Suns only 2.5 games above the 13th seed. The Suns need to put down their heads and make a splash, scoring Siakam does just that. Siakam should be a dream fit next to Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Mikal Bridges. The Suns send Deandre Ayton, 3 first round picks, and Grayson Allen. (Acquired from the Jae Crowder trade to be talked about soon) The Raptors on the other end make a huge move as a result of the Raptors’ lack of success, not only this year but even dating back to directly after Kawhi’s one and done stint. The Raptors acquire Ayton who may finally get a chance to unleash aomething closer to his full potential with a new team. The Suns finally get what they want in return for Jae Crowder, but it turns out, they don’t keep any of it! The Suns acquire Allen and their 2029 1st who they flip to add into the Siakam trade; the Suns flip Nwora for Chris Duarte who fits better into the time the Suns are looking to fill. The Bucks, looking to polish their wing spots get to add a good, physical veteran wing who looks to have an immediate impact on winning and a potential good role player in Malachi Flynn who the Raptors are looking to move on from. Lastly, the Pacers move on from Duarte who’s role has diminished due to his inefficiency. Replacing Duarte is Jordan Nwora, a younger option who offers length and offensive upside.
