I'll be doing a series of mock trades to show scenarios in which the Clippers can trade some of their players in exchange for bad contracts and a bunch of draft picks.

This one is simple enough - The Clippers get De'Aaron Fox, one first rounder in 2027 and 4 second rounders over the next years in exchange for Darius Garland. Despite having to take Fox's contract for the next 4 years, this allows them to be active in future drafts to help their rebuild.

As for the Spurs, while Garland and Fox are similar players, Garland is a better three point shooter, and most importantly, this allows them to take a cheaper contract that will end in 2 years instead of 4, thus making it much easier to re-sign Castle and Harper in the future.
