Grizzlies get in on Keldon trade

SUCCESS

Ok not a Grizzlies fan so forgive me if this is bad but, having heard the rumors about Keldon Johnson being available for trade, I'm surprised I haven't seen the Grizzlies linked more... Johnson is a young player on a good contract, who matches the teams' timeline. He provides a complementary role that would be perfect for a team trying to build around its core pieces and lacking an elite wing (Bane as being a 2 with a smaller wingspan imo).

If Clingan is off the board at #9, I think this would be an interesting trade if they could swing it. Maybe they would need to include more draft capital or adjust the pieces somewhat idk.

Regardless, I think Johnson would give the Grizzlies a really interesting "small" switchable lineup with JJJ at the five, and Smart/K.Johnson/Bane as interchangeable wings. I mean I still think the Grizzlies should pick up a center in free agency to give them a "big option" with JJJ at #4, but I'll leave that to this space to determine who the ideal fit is.

Anyway, curious for your thoughts as to what the Grizzlies should do with the #9 pick if Clingan isn't there... Should they trade it? Should they take somebody else if they fall outside the top 5? Who you think might be available here that makes sense for the Griz? Thoughts on Keldon?
