Explanation
Early into the season I held the belief that both Trae Young & Ja Morant would be dealt at the deadline. Now even before it was confirmed Washington had interest in Trae I did believe the Wizards were an ideal spot for Trae. But for Ja I never really had an ideal spot. Toronto always came first to my mind but as we saw with Atlanta it’ll be tough for a team to willingly take on Quickley’s contract without extra picks.
With the above said it seems Miami is the ideal spot for Ja & his camp. The Heat also have mutual interest. Now I don’t believe Memphis should fully reset. They have a lot of young talent along with JJJ, who’s still only 26. They should look to pair a center with JJJ who can mask his weaknesses like rebounding & playmaking.
