Dallas secures their starting shooting guard in Desmond Bane to pair alongside Klay and Kyrie. Bane played his college ball at TCU in the Dallas area and has previously expressed disappointment that the Mavericks didn’t draft him. Now, he gets the chance to return to Dallas—where he owns a lake house and frequently spends his offseasons.

The Mavericks also get a chance to evaluate Vince Williams Jr., who has shown promise as a potential 3&D wing. When healthy, he flashed real potential during the 2023–24 season and earned a spot in the Rising Stars game during All-Star Weekend.

On the other side, the Grizzlies bolster their depth with Caleb Martin, while also adding potential starters in Naji Marshall and Daniel Gafford.
