Why the Clippers do it: The Clippers make a push for contention acquiring the best player on the market to pair alongside Kawhi and Harden. They give up 2 out-of-rotation, expiring deals (Bones & Tucker), Powell, DJJ, and a first round pick to boost their title ceiling. The trade is not perfect for the Clips since they are giving up decent value for a short contending window, but this is the type of bold move they need to make if they are serious about winning in the next 2 years.

Why the Magic do it: The magic have been desperate for shooting and additional shot creation all season. Adding Powell to the mix raises their offense and should be a great fit next to Paolo and Franz. Powell can either start or come off the bench as a sixth man for the Magic. The Magic are only giving up 2 expiring, injured players (will consider team option as expirings for the Heat sake) and a late first round pick this year.

Why the Heat do it: The heat clearly need to move on from Jimmy Butler at this point and getting back 2 first round picks and expiring contracts is solid value for them. DJJ can also be a key piece in the rotation as the Heat are still trying to make the playoffs this year.

Let me know in the comments who says no. I feel like the Clippers may be hesitant in trading their 2031 pick, but the Heat likely walk away from the deal without it.
