The Kings don’t really have a true young star. When they couldn’t stop Fox from maybe leaving, they already started losing their chance to compete. LaVine can’t take Fox’s place at all. Their lottery pick this year is going to the Hawks, so if they don’t want to waste more time, I think they should clear enough cap space to take on Kuminga’s contract — even if it’s $40M, it’s still worth it.
Keegan and Ellis will need new contracts soon, and Rozier’s expiring deal could be really useful. The Kings also have a bunch of TPEs they can use. They can fix the rest of the roster later
