Why both teams do it

Hornets- they get a true fun 4 or 5 that can shoot and fit their play style. This and their two firsts this year would make to be a scary team going into next year.

Grizzlies- they do it to truly hit the reset button after ja rumor to get traded and Desmond Bain already out. They get a good bit of capital plus they can still ship Collin or Josh to a contender for further picks.
