So on August 22 2025, we lost some greats to a big planned out event. Chees and totems retired. If that didn’t suck on its own, multiple other creators soon took suit and it ended up being a chain of like 5-7 users retiring on the same day. Notably lakerviking and even more so; kumingathebest. One of my favorite users, gone in a blink of an eye before I even got to say goodbye. Not a bad day for everyone though as totems passed his top 50 users series to DWhite who quickly gave it to the current owner of the series; surge. Surge quickly proved himself as the undisputed best user on fanspo. Combine that with resurgences like coreynaylor2060 becoming prime Jordan and detroitballs rebranding to CadeAndEm (although the name cadence thought of by yours truly was decisively better 😉) and becoming a consensus top 3 user at one point. A couple months ago we got a user named kylekuzma999 who has taken over Fanspo. Top 3 user consensus. Yeah, that’s how short-handed we’ve become! (Nah I’m just kidding, love you Kuz ❤️) anyways. That has been the domino effect of that day. We even had wilt month where WiltTheGoat dominated fanspo like real wilt chamberlain dominated sports (he also dominated another category, (😏) but some of y’all are kids so I won’t go there. That leads me to my main point. About a month ago, I posted a post officially taking a break. I needed that break. That’s what we in the bizz call a good idea. 2 weeks later I followed that up by retiring. That’s what we in the bizz call a bad idea. I should not have done that. But here comes surge to save the day again because if you look at his comment (along with Jaywiggs who said something similar) on my retirement post, yeah. The fanspo community is goated. I don’t know what feels off about fanspo right now but I do know what feels right. It’s the offseason so it is a bit dry right now but thanks to FanspoTerrorist’s brilliant plan, (yes this was his plan all along) he made me realize one part of fanspo that i shouldn’t love, but I do. I love the drama 😂 some people are so stupid and it’s hilarious watching LukaGlazer and coreynaylor just rival Michael Jordan’s final record against these absolute nincompoops who think they have a chance against our goats. We’re still here for a reason. So here’s my main point. August 22nd will always suck. But I’m going to try to make it a little better. I’m back. I shouldn’t have retired. I will be resuming my break from fanspo because I do need it, but I’m back. Sorry if this idea seemed self-centered, but I wanted to unretire anyways and this was the funnest way I could think of. Couldn’t have done it without JackHammer.
