I'd like to hear if/what the real phone call conversation between Danny Ainge & Adam Silver was like but I can imagine it went something like this: DA "Hello Adam, I need to talk to you about what could possibly grow into a problem in the league. And I've got a deal for ya to try & stop it before it begins." AS "Okay? Go ahead, what do I need to be aware of?" DA "So we've all heard how demanding Bailey's camp is, we've even been told he won't report to camp if we pick him in the draft. But I'm sure you don't want teams in the league to bow down to the wishes of a player who hasn't played one minute of professional basketball. I think you'll agree that is not a good direction for the league to go." AS "I agree, I dont want that. This league has been driven by stars, not rookies entering the league." DA "Well I'll have the Jazz draft him, to prove to any agent or future agent that teams will draft who they believe will help their franchise the most and not out of fear of what an agent says. But we need a promise like the one you gave to Dallas. Like when you forced them to trade Doncic to the Lakers because its best for the league to have the Lakers relevant, but you promised them Cooper Flagg." AS "Okay, what promise do you want? The lottery already happened." DA "We want the top pick next year. AJ Dybansta has already played his prep ball in Utah and will play his college ball at BYU. He's familiar with our state and will have the best chance of deciding to stay in the state than any other top prospect." AS "I don't know Danny. He is going to be a star & we could use him in a bigger market. You know, more revenue for the league. What if we give you the 3rd pick? Boozer's son is projected to be there at 3, and he has his dad's tie to the state. Carlos says he loved his time there. He could influence his son to stay on the Jazz for a while." DA "We'd love to have the #1 so we can have the choice of who we want out of them two." AS "Well how about I promise to keep hitting the reset button until Utah gets one of the top 3 spots? Gives a little bit of chance but you'll still be in the top 3." DA "Fine. As long as we get a top 3 next year for picking Bailey and risk him not reporting to the team." AS "Okay Danny, thank you for taking one for the team. Let's make sure no rookies tell teams what to do."

I'm calling it now, Jazz will have a top 3 pick next year.
