Not a lot of people are talking about how expensive OKC will be! K. Williams and Diang aren't doing too much work for OKC, so it's a smart move to find a way to get cheaper and to get picks back in this deal for the Thunder. Also, Niang can be a very interesting player for them.

It's very simple why Utah wants to do this pick. Currently (11/17/2025), this team is 5-8 and is outside of the 1-8 range for their pick. So, getting full protection of this pick would be a smart move for the Jazz for finishing up their tanking season. Or, they can trade Markkanen (probably won't happen because of how good he is), just to solidify their first this year.
