Lauri looks to be a good fit for the Spurs. This allows them to maintain their draft picks for the future while pairing Fox and Wemby with another guy in his prime that fits their time line (Markkanen is the same age as Fox).

Spurs will have a core of Fox Castle Wemby and Markkanen with plenty of assets to build around for years. With the #5 pick they would be able to get another piece to compliment those guys in either Johnson, Edgecombe, or Bailey.

The Jazz get Harper, and a true shot at getting a #1 guy. By moving off Markkanen they also will be in a good spot to keep their pick next year (top 8 protected) and look to draft another complimentary piece. The Jazz need to find their core pieces through the draft before they can start building otherwise. They get another shot at a core player at 14 in this draft.

Vassell is on a long term contract and may have some untapped potential, but could be a guy the Jazz can move in the next year to further acquire more assets. Harrison Barnes is more or less salary filler to complete the deal.
