With the Jazz getting ready to make a playoff push, the best thing for them at the deadline would be to fill in the blanks. One of those blanks being the fact they’re lacking a true point guard, who can play defense and be a leader. Dejounte might be the perfect fit.

The Jazz would give up Sexton, Yurtseven, and two future Minnesota firsts. The Hawks would give up Dejounte Murray.

Murray as the main ball handler last averaged 21 8 and 9, and that was on a Spurs team whose second best player was Keldon Johnson. With pieces like Clarkson, George, Collins, Kessler, and of course Markkanen to pass to, he could have even more options and expand the Jazz’ offense.

The Hawks trading Dejounte Murray is inevitable, but where to has been up in the air. While teams like Brooklyn and Philly would make sense, the assets might not make as much sense, as both those teams aren’t willing to break up their core for much and Sexton and Yurtseven can serve as key players in a Hawks rebuild; or get flipped as trade chips for either more picks or a second star around Trae.

This also helps the two ball handler situation which is one of Atlantas biggest struggles. Moving Bogdan Bogdanovic up to the starting 2 and having Sexton run the bench unit would have a 2 man that knows how to play off ball and be a spot up shooter, rather than having two point guards on the floor at the same time. Keep in mind, the Hawks went to the conference finals with that backcourt. (Young/Bogdanovic)

Sexton off the bench could have its pros and cons, but would fill out any non existent pg depth the hawks currently have. Sexton averages 13 3 and 3 in 20 minutes on average when he comes off the bench. In Synders offense, those numbers can jump with more minutes. Yurtseven is also a great rebounder, something the Hawks would need to replace in the event of a Capela trade or injury.
