The Jazz send depth and a gamble of a point guard to help the Pelicans. Jazz take a gamble that Murray can help once they return to competition. The Jazz can slow role his return since they are in no hurry to compete this year.

This could help the Pelican’s perform better which in turn increases the chances of the Jazz keeping their pick. This helps the Pelican’s since they send out a less valuable pick this year too.

The Jazz trade exception should allow this, but I’m not sure if picks would need to be exchanged.
