I know there are going to be some haters, but this trade is pretty perfect in my eyes.
This seems like the best possible outcome for the Warriors trade deadline, other than a miracle of getting Giannis. They get one of the best Jimmy Butler replacements they could ask for, and they get the best centers Curry and Draymond get to play with. Sabonis' play style is just fitting for Golden State, and Draymond's defense compliments it well. They also get Monk, to be a super-sixth man or starting SG, adding even more talent to this team.
A lineup of Curry, Podz/Hield/Monk, DeRozan, Green, Sabonis is definitely one of the best on paper in the entirety of the GSW dynasty.
It is unfortunate to end the Butler era so tragically, but this team's timeline is running thin. Butler can rehab in Sacramento, and for the Kings, it is a win if he bounces back great, and can be a good deadline piece to trade, or even miraculously fit into the team. The Kings finally get Kuminga, and get Moody, and take a chance on TRJ, along with good draft capital from a desperate team.
I tried to figure out a good way to get Sacramento more picks, and I did get them three, but it was a little difficult because the Warriors don't have full control of their 2030 pick, so I had to send their 2032 pick to Sac, lightly protected.
