The reason this is so crucial for them (these set of trades) is because one, they get below the luxury tax. Two, the Kings are able to contend with this lineup, giving defense and 2 great lob threats for Acuff Jr to throw. This teams is built around Acuff Jr, and surrounding him with the best possible pieces to oblige to the 3-2-1 lottery rules makes it crucial to compete and be good enough to get a top pick in the draft. As for the dubs, they get some depth and now the Lavine x DeRozan duo gets a true point guard. Pistons get a proven guy who wont choke and gets a ton of rebounds, and the hawks just get better and grab assets. I know the Kings lose draft picks, but in reality, it's probably for the better. The Kings lineup next season could be really fun to watch:
Pg: Darius Acuff Jr/ Emmanual Sharp Sg: Malik Monk/Nique Clifford Sf: Jimmy Butler/DeAndre Hunter/Alex Karaban Pf: Keegan Murray/ Johnathan Kuminga C: Jalen Duren/ Maxime Raynaud
An 11 man rotation that could genuinely work that won't be that bad in the western conference. Also this trade works its just fanspo being fanspo.
