I decided to pick Huerter as the main trade piece/salary filler over Barnes for three reasons. First, Huerter is a defensive liability and needs to be hidden on that end. Second, he plays the same position as LaVine, Ellis and Monk, so his playing time would be limited, and I don’t see him being very productive in that situation. Third, Harrison Barnes is an amazing role model and presence in the locker room. He’s the ultimate veteran teammate. Sure, he’s not the focal point anymore with plays now being run for Keegan Murray, but his leadership is invaluable. Kings would have to spend there entire Non-Taxper mid level exception via trade so they wouldn’t be able to spend any of it but they still have there bi annual exception. And draft Yves Missi 13th overall or trade down to get him he’s a Decent presence in the interior on both ends, okay in the pick and roll, has potential to really alter shots and anchor a defense, shown upside of his ability to face up defenders, get down hill and create for himself. Could be a very quality backup and anchor on defense in the non Sabonis minutes.
