Explaining Moves
Kuzma Trade: Self Explanatory; Kings have been heavily linked to Kuz, he provides a do-it-all wing presence which can help the Kings reach contention. Wizards take on expiring contracts, plus the 13th pick.
Huerter Trade: After Ellis’ emergence, Huerter’s role has been reduced to unneeded. Kings move him for the 18th pick, which they select Kyshawn George, a 6’8 sniper to add some of Kevin’s 3pt ability back to the rotation. Magic add much needed shot creation and shooting.
25th Pick Trade: Kings are able to resign Monk, he assumes the point guard role, and wants a lob threat next to him. The Kings are also in need of a backup rim protector. They trade a future 2nd and a lottery protected 2027 first for the 25th pick, where they select Yves Missi, a perfect fit for the Kings’ rotation.
45th Pick: Kings select Ajay Mitchell as a 3rd string PG, who can learn under Fox, Monk, and Ellis.
Free Agency
Monk: Self explanatory; give him the most we can, ~78M over 4 years.
Len: Solid big who has proven to be utilized well, he is familiar with the system and does not cost much.
Edwards: Kings decide to continue to bet on the development of Edwards as a 3/D wing.
Watford: Needing a 15th roster spot, specifically a forward, Kings bring in Trendon Watford, a capable player who was even high school teammates with Kings SG, Colby Jones.
