We get off the current contracts and secure some boom or bust players that have an incredible upside alongside each other. CP3 comes in for accountability and all of a sudden, this team shoots 3's, plays D, and has as high a ceiling as any 1 - 2 punch in the league.

This gives us immediate cap flexibility now and in the future to continue filling out the roster / framing the edges. This trade still keeps us tanking for this season as the DOU is injured anyways, but over the offseason we have 3 picks in the draft to further fill out the team or make a big trade upgrade.

A lot of the picks given up were either protected or a pick swap, which means worst case scenario, we still have first round picks, and knowing the other teams, the picks may end up to be good anyways.

Pels have reason to do this too as it makes them a more complete team.
