For Boston - they re-route Horford with Nesmith for Hield and Wright. They get a floor spacer in Hield who should thrive around Boston’s defensive backcourt and wings. Hield is on declining deal 22-20-18m.. So instead of waiving Horford for 13m, they basically pay an extra 7m for Hield in 22 and only 18m for 23 which is then a nice deal. Wright is a big bodied defensive pg. Can start or back up Smart as required.
For OKC - they re-route the 2x Boston picks for Bagley + 3x future 2nds. They have no bigs so why not take a flyer on Bagley. They get Bagley + 2nd round pick swap in 25 (best of Bos/Sac) + a future 27 2nd + Pick 39 for the cost of Pick 16 this year.
For Sac - they move off Hield's 3 years to open a bit of financial flexibility for the future. The resign Davis aswell. Take a look at Nesmith aswell. Horford is a bit of insurance if Holmes walks. The idea of moving Bagley is to resign Holmes if he requires a tad more over the $48-$50m/4yr early bird deal the Kings could offer over the cap. $55m/4yr front loaded for Holmes with Horford backing up is the idea. The other reason for moving Bagley is cleaning up the fit with the 4. They go into the draft with Pick 16 and likely 9, targeting big wings who can play the 4 or a combo guard.
