So what does New Orleans want? An expiring role player that makes the same as Herb or do they want young players under team control?

This trade is the latter and essentially turns Herb's defense into 2 people. Both Mitchell and Duarte are Pitbull on ball defenders and will have no problem fitting in.

For Sac, there now becomes a question for who starts. My gut tells me that Barnes will move to the bench as the backup SF. He's clearly lost a step and can't defend anywhere near Herb's level.

Just to add what I think about Herb. I think Herb would be an absolute PERFECT fit at the SF. Sac desperately needs length, athleticism, and DEFENSE on the wing. Everyone has been saying it for years. Herb is that guy. He would be this teams Doug Christie. Steals, deflections, ball pressure, grit, and he has that chill vibe and attitude that people in Sac like.

C'mon Monte, find a way without giving up Malik. I don't say this often, but I want this one.
