Knueppel is widely regarded as one of the best shooters in the 2025 draft class. He excels in catch-and-shoot situations, shot 3s at a high percentage in both high school and college, and displays deep range with good mechanics. His footwork and balance coming off screens are great for a 19-year-old. A coach’s son and former Gatorade Wisconsin Player of the Year, Knueppel plays with a strong understanding of spacing, timing, and decision-making. He doesn't usually force plays and knows how to read the defense in both half-court and transition. He can also handle the ball fairly well, is an underrated passer, and is capable of operating the P&R. He also thrives in off-ball movement, backdoor cuts, and relocating for open looks. Knueppel has a strong frame for a wing. He uses his size to absorb contact around the rim and doesn’t get bumped off his spots easily. His strength also allows him to hold up against bigger wings on defense. The biggest concern at the next level is Knueppel’s athletic ceiling. He’s not an explosive leaper or twitchy mover, which could limit his effectiveness defending NBA guards and wings or creating separation off the bounce. While he has good instincts, his lack of elite mobility and recovery speed make him a target in the open floor. He’ll need to improve his technique and anticipation to avoid becoming a liability on the perimeter. Knueppel is a capable scorer but isn’t a great one-on-one threat. He struggles to consistently beat defenders in iso and relies more on craftiness than explosiveness. He'll project more as a complementary scorer than a primary option.
