Trying yet another Mitchell Robinson trade! Team by team below:

Knicks: The KAT trade has left the Knicks light on wing defenders and they still arguably need a full center rotation. This trade sees them get Vanderbilt, a great defender, albeit one who is quite limited on the offensive end and Reath, a 28 year old center who broke out for the admittedly terrible Blazers last season. Vanderbilt gives them a good defender, and one who's on an affordable long term contract, which is valuable to the Knicks as their salary increases as various extensions and increases take effect. Reath gives them a solid rebounder, and a player who can even stretch the floor. A stretch 5 also takes the pressure off of Achiuwa to shoot as he can focus more on rebounding as he's been a beast on the boards when locked in. The Knicks give up 2 second round picks to the Blazers to make this happen, and might need to send at least one to the Lakers as Mitch is injured.

Lakers: The Lakers have been looking for a backup/starting center to allow Davis to move the 4 for what seems like ages. Could Mitch be that player? When healthy, he's a force on defense, one of the best rim protectors in the league and someone who can grab offensive rebounds like crazy. He's on a descending contract and this trade does slight save the Lakers some money (I'd hope they make more moves to maximize the LeBron-AD window). Hood-Schifino has played little part in the Lakers setup and likely wouldn't be missed too much. It's too bad that he didn't pan out on the Lakers, but he'd get the opportunity for more playing time on a team like the Blazers.

Blazers: The Blazers have waaay too many centers, with Ayton, Williams and now recent FRP Clingan on the team. That leaves Reath on the outside despite his breakout season last year. The Blazers get 2 second round picks and a young wing in Schifino from the Lakers. Schifino hasn't done much of note as of yet, but he was on a Lakers team who needed win-now players, not prospects. He still has the tools to be a solid wing in the NBA and the Blazers could give him the time he needs to grow.
