I love this for all teams involved personally, and here is why.

Pelicans: Spacing center next to zion. Now this trade falls apart if the Pels want to move on from zion. But if they want to keep him, a core of zion, trey, herb, and kat is pretty elite. And to do it while only realy giving up some expirings, hawkins who is a cool young player but nothing special, and 2.5 firsts. The 7th this year is a lot, but the milwaukee swap in 2026 isn't as good if giannis stays and the 2028 is is protected if shit really hits the fan. Personally, I'd run Zion at point with Herb, trey and either alvarado or brandon boston in the starting 5(especially while dejounte is out). Zion is already awesome when hes got like not spacing around him, imagein 4 willing shooters(including 2 of the best shooters at their respective positions), thats some scary stuff. This is a Pels gamble here, but I think its well worth it if they want to keep zion.

Jazz: I mean, this feels obvious. Not only do you get some really solid draft capital, but you also get 43 million in expiring deals to help make a real move for a free agent next off season. The jazz wanted the pg deal for Lauri last season, and now hes on a worse contract and had pretty rough season. This offer is still very good for him, even including Kessler(who they would also have to resign for about 18-25 mil ayear btw). I could see Jazz being hesitant cause of the Kessler inclusion, but idk Jazz seem to want to play 5 out more often that not anyway, seems like an utter win for them to get assets to start a real rebuild.

Knicks: Some knicks fans will hate this(talking to you intellect), but I'm in the camp that Lauri is far closer to his last 2 seasons than this past 1. In those last 2 seasons he shot 49-39.5 splits while averaging about 24.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. He got up 8 threes a game as well, thats a lot. Lauri is not as good of a passer as kat, but hes better at creating for himself. Lauri is also a better wing defender than kat, and maybe most importantly, he doesn't get into foul or turnover trouble often. Kat is a better player, but lauri is a better player at the 4(assuming he returns to form when he got to the jazz, which I have every belief that he will and that is because the knicks are not purposefully going to bench him while trying to lose and limiting his minutes). Anyway, you combine Lauri's length with that of Og and Mikal as well as center rotation of kessler and Mitch, disgustingly good defense as well that is so good it can cover for when the offense isn't clicking, smth the knicks lost a bit of this past year and a large reason the season felt so weird.

Come at me, but if theres one big trade the knicks make this summer, I think this is my favorite.
