Like my last trade, I'll start this off by saying that I don't think the Knicks should trade Randle. Despite all the hate that's come his way, he's been a huge part of the success for the Knicks and it's not easy to replace a two time All-Star and All NBA player who averages 20/10/5. He also draws tons of attention on the offensive end and is able to leverage his great passing skills to find open shooters. That being said, it's hard to see any other trade options available for the Knicks as they are pretty strapped for assets after trading for Bridges. He also has an extension coming up and if the Knicks don't feel like they want to give him a long term contract with a hefty raise, they could look to do a trade like this instead. I also want to note that I think the Knicks would be due some draft compensation from the Lakers in this scenario but I'm copping out by just showing the players involved since it's hard to gauge Randle's value.

This trade also has the Hawks moving on from Trae and they'd probably need significant (all their available) compensation from the Lakers to do so.

Knicks: I'll start with the Knicks. I'm frankly not sure this makes them a better team but it makes them deeper and more well-rounded. They add Hachimura who's young and has shown improvement on the Lakers. He can also shoot decently from 3 and is a high-energy guy on defense. They get Vanderbilt who's a solid defender and seems like a Thibs guy. Finally they re-sign Achiuwa and also get Richards to fill out the center rotation. I'd like to see them get a protected FRP but I can't really see a way to make that happen. What this trade also does is give them more tradeable contracts and makes them younger.

Hornets: The Hornets do this to take a shot on Hood-Schifino. He's a young player who's flashed potential but just doesn't have the opportunities on a Lakers team that wants to contend. The Hornets get involved to get what would likely be a second rounder or two and a chance to add another prospect to their ranks.

Hawks: Since the Hawks traded Murray, the conventional wisdom is that they're going all-in on Trae. And that's probably right! But for the sake of a crazy trade, this would see them get draft capital along with Reaves who the Hawks reportedly want. They get a couple of veterans in Russell and Vincent who they can either flip or keep to mentor their young players. This would mean they go all-in on the rebuild even if the return may not be as much as they would have wanted.

Lakers: This is an all-in move for the Lakers. They add a durable PF in Randle who can soak up a ton of minutes while Lebron and AD are rested during the regular season. It gives them a large frontcourt who can overpower most teams and the best PG to play for the Lakers in a while in Trae. He can stretch the floor and the Lakers will have 4 players that teams have to keep an eye on at all times. On defense, this team will not be good, let alone great. But it's a hail mary move to try and keep the window for Lebron and AD open for a bit longer.
