This is a realistic trade for the Knicks following most likely losing Mitchell Robinson. Owner James Dolan said the team will remain operating under the 2nd apron so due to the Shamet signing Robinson is all but gone. So the Knicks need to find a way to replace his defensive ability and rebounding, and a great young option is Yves Missi who the Knicks have long had interest in. This interest dates back to the Jose Alvarado trade saga. So a deal now wouldn’t be off the cards. In this deal the 2 most expendable knicks are sent and a 2027 2nd plus future 2nd. Dadiet has not been able to find valuable minutes and is all but done in NY. Even though Mcbride is a great player and beloved by fans he is the 2nd most expendable Knick. He’s on an expiring deal, where the Knicks wouldn’t be able to match money wise with other teams. So they would want to cash in on his value. They move on from 2 expendable players and bring in a good long term Mitch replacement. As for New Orleans they bring in some more draft capital and a great role player who they would have the cap space to extend.
