Knicks trade into this year's draft. They need an influx of defense to take the next step

• #26: Johni Broome

• #36: Adou Thiero

Thibs doesn't typically play young players, but these two have skills that can be utilized immediately. Broome is 23, is almost 7ft with shoes on and can play PF/C as an elite defender and rebounder with some scoring and passing ability. Thiero is a point of attack perimeter defender that can defend guards and wings. Possibly one of the closest defenders to the Thompson twins.

Brooklyn has too many picks. If they plan on bringing back Dayron Sharpe and Cam Thomas, they literally won't have enough roster spots for all 5 picks. They get a first in the deep draft next year and focus on 3 rookies. Considering it's a late first and early second their giving up, one unprotected first from a non-lottery team feels like reasonable value.
