Saw a similar idea earlier where Jabari went to the wizards and wizards got picks(kuzma ain’t worth all that). However, kuzma is worth prob about this package, being some role players on expiring contracts, their own protected first, a Detroit protected first which I actually think could convey(which would honestly make this an overpay cause it’d be a good first if it conveys) and a bunch of seconds.

I’ve also been adamant that Houston has no need for Randle and this would be dumb, but this is also the least they give up in basically any package I’ve seen(feel free to swap landale for green or Tate). There’s a world where Houston has to pay all of these players, and they can’t do that, so picking and choosing is important. I’d personally see Jabari in their future more than a guy like Jalen green, but tbh Jabari may not even be in the starting 5 after next year if we see progression from reed, amen, whitmore, and Eason, who all already look good to great. Randle is also an interesting fit next to sengun, neither guy is a floor spacer but both guys r good passers and aren’t completely null on spreading the floor, could work offensively somewhat like AD and cousins worked together.

Knicks do this because kuzma is a downgrade at pf from randle(tho better on defense historically) but in a crazy good descending contract. And obviously Jabari is a rly quality 3 and d player w potential to be more as both as pf and small ball center. They both give the Knicks loads more lineup options and makes stuff rly interesting.

I like this trade a lot but I can see why the other teams, especially Houston, would not like it
