In general I could see the Knicks moving on from Kat even with Thibs fired because of the injury concerns and is defense issues. Heres an interesting option I havent seen yet and its not too confusing.

Knicks: trade Kat and some draft capital for trey murphy, sexton, and kessler. Trey murphy showed legit all star play this year, averaging 21-5-3.5 on good and high volume shooting in a shit situation. At only 24 I think hes only getting better, and though hes far from a great defender, his size and athleticism makes him solid. Kessler is a great defensive center and Sexton is one of the more underrated scoring and playmaking guards in the nba. They start Brunson, Mikal, Trey, Og, Mitch/Kessler and bench is Sexton, McBride, Hart, Mitch/Kessler, a genuinely elite 9 man rotation. If trey and Kessler continue to make jumps as well, I think both floor and ceiling are higher with this team.

Jazz: The go pick hunting. both sexton and kessler are on the last years of their deal. Kessler is a really good piece but Jazz have made it known they want to play 5 out. Sexton is odd to judge cause of his good numbers bad team kinda thing. At the very least they are each gonna cost a lot of money to resign. So they get good draft capital plus kinda young decent potential players from the Knicks. Dejounte's money is bad, but he should also be able to put up good numbers and be able to convince a team like the Mavs or Kings to invest for another pick or 2.

Pels: Imo the hardest team to convince. Trey was really fucking good. But this trade allows them to pair Zion with the best spacing center of all time and keep Herb so the perimeter defense is still good(dude is awesome). I'd start Zion at point with cj at the 2, and then Herb and either Hawkins or Brandon Boston or the 7th overall pick at the 3 and 4. This spaces the floor around the zion and really tests the limits of point zion. Jaden Springer is a very good defender and itneresting pick up if he evers figures out his offensive game(not a necessary part of trade though). I think Pels consider mainly to get off dejounte, whose currently injured. Kat is a real piece, and then they get off cj next year where they can try to make a move in free agency to fit this new team built around zion, kat and herb better. Tbh, I'd more readily trade zion than Trey if I'm the Pels, but I think the value is overall very fair.
