Knicks – if you say this is a no, you’re just wrong, This is the last team to pass on this landing Giannis at a favorable discount while not having the actual draft capitol to really make a move.
a. KAT has been a liability both offensively and defensively with foul trouble taking himself out of games, forcing Mitchel Robison to play deep into 4th quarters where his lack of free throw shooting is always a concern and games can be significantly slowed down. Rewatch both pacer series for the hack a mitch. Landing Giannis replaces both the scoring output of KAT (When he’s on) and Mitchell Robinson rim pressure. He’s the answer to both their deficiencies in one player. Landing Gafford to replace the spacing on a better deal then KAT with less volume as the Brunson Giannis PnR is all you need to win a title.
Bucks – This is not the dream package, but this sends a top 2 player in their long franchise to his ideal destination, and the return is massive. Landing two promising young talents that combined give you the scoring output and playmaking ability in Giannis. While landing a veteran guard and young scoring guard, to come off the bench. 3 first rounds to quickly launch a mini rebuild to assess the roster.
a. This is giving Giannis what he wants while still remaining interesting for years to come getting significantly younger with real promise instead of the draft picks.
Mavs – This is a clean house move to confirm the team is rebuilding. If you look at the trade in two parts, it makes more sense.
a. AD for Jimmy and a first from a very old team (Probably a buyout after this season) would free up a lot of cap space to entice a very good FA class to come play with this talented young roster. Wendel gives a cheaper spacing option compared to a injured Gafford. Who’s role will decrease with the return of lively for the upcoming year who will see an extension. This move gives them a lot of flexibility in the year 2027 while simultaneously allowing them to finish the tank. Finally Wendel is the AD replacement who is still only 26 years old.
Warriors – This is the final all in move for curry. Landing him another elite scoring big man and an elite rebounder for the rare occasion he does miss. This improves their paint defense for teams like OKC Minnesota and Denver who will roll this team in the first round if nothing is addressed. Starting line up of Curry Pods Draymond AD and Mitch gives them a punchers chance against the west (Prob not OKC) but def makes them a better roster and probably keeps curry around for the final part of his contract as they can be a 4-5 cede keeping an aged roster out of a pointless play in. Their moving Jimmy who does nothing because he’s injured, Kominga who Kerr hates for some reason and two first for what their desperate for is front court play. Which for what they bring is a massive upgrade.
Magic – Can’t close games out offensively leads dimmish and the shooting needs work. Franz has been hurt and moving him now is an all-time low. But with the east this weak landing the scoring/ spacing is exactly what is needed for you number one overall pick and allowing KAT to play the 4 next to MO in the playoffs is ideal. They also land a Suggs backup in McBride who is a great off ball 3 and D guard who can play the 1 with the second unit or in spurts with the starting line up to give different looks. He is on GREAT contract and is basically seen as an additional first round pick for moving off Frans with high upside and still barely 25 years old. This move makes them contenders today. And gets them out of 500 in a soft east.
