The Knicks had a great offseason but the only blemish was losing Hartenstein. The center market is very thin and the Knicks don't have much draft capital remaining after the Bridges trade. This sees them part with Mitch to bolster the center rotation. I also think re-signing Achiuwa would be a good move as well as he could also fill in for Randle on occasion as a backup PF in addition to the center spot.

The Warriors and Jazz off-seasons have similarly felt incomplete and that there was a big move coming. It finally comes and the Jazz get some solid prospects and draft capital while the Warriors try to keep Curry's window open as long as possible by improving the team further.

Knicks: I'll start with the Knicks first since they're my team. Losing Mitch will be a huge blow. He's been a big part of the defensive identity of this team for several years and has been hugely impactful, even in the playoffs. He neutralized Mobley and Allen two years ago and did a great job against Embiid before Embiid injured him. However, that gets at the crux of the issue which is availability. The Knicks get a young center in Kessler who's shown he can be great. They also get Looney who would give the Knicks a different type of center and fits the hard nosed identity of this team. As I said above, I think it would be good to re-sign Achiuwa to be a backup PF/C. They'd also still have the taxpayers midlevel to add another impact player (Hayward, Osman pr Okoro perhaps). They also keep Deuce which is unlikely but would be great. They give up a bunch of second rounders in exchange as well as you know Ainge will extract a high price from any trade.

Warriors: The Warriors lose promising young players in Kuminga and Podziemski along with most of their remaining draft capital. But they get a great defensive center in Mitch to replace Looney and an All-Star in Markkanen. There would be so many shooters on this team that it would be difficult for opposing defenses to handle. They'd still have some defensive players in Melton, Mitch and Green to have a solid defense as well. They also shed $13 million in salary which will help with luxury tax payments and potentially other moves later.

Jazz: The Jazz would do this if they know that Markkanen doesn't want to extend or they decide he's not part of their future after all. They give some solid draft capital as well as two young prospects with high ceilings in Kuminga and Podziemski. Wiggins is also a solid veteran presence for this lineup and can mentor the young players. He is long term salary but they have a ton of cap space so it shouldn't be a big issue.

This trade is definitely wishful thinking for the Knicks (and maybe the Warriors as well) but I hope the Knicks have some moves remaining to add to their lineup.
