Should probably wait until after the playoffs to do this but who cares.
Knicks get the power forward of their dreams. Great rebounder? Check. Good spot up shooter? Check. Versatile defender? Check. Very athletic? Check. Josh Hart is incredibly important to this team, but he still handicaps the offense no matter how well he is playing. Bari provides real 5 out spacing, pushing Hart to the bench so he can bring what he brings in 25-30 min a game isntead of 40 min a game. Bari can also play small ball 5 a lot better than Og can unlocking some really cool switch everything lineups. I doubt this is enough to get Bari, or if this is enough it is probably connected to a bigger trade where Houston goes for a star.
Lineup: Starters: brunson, Mikal, Og, Bari, Kat Bench: Payne/Kolek, McBride, Hart, Laravia, Hukporti Reserves: Pacome, Mccullar, this year's second round pick
Houston gets a Steven Adams replacement plus extra draft capital(effectively either a late lottery first or 2 early seconds) for Jabari smith. This allows Houston to avoid the problem of paying Bari while still adding to their rotation. Mitch is probably a better defender and rebounder than Adams when healthy(ofc thats the key) allowing them to keep running those double bigs without having to resign Adams who should have a hot market with how dry the center market is overall
