I don’t want to trade Randle, but this is a possibility on the below scenario.

SUCCESS

Heat

Heat

+1 player ($28.9m),
Cap Impact - $2.5M

+1  Wins

-15.86  MPG

+1.77  Off.

-1.28  Def.

Knicks

Knicks

+3 players ($32.0m),
Cap Impact - $1.6M

+2  Wins

+18.80  MPG

-3.26  Off.

+4.42  Def.

Couple of things need to happen as I am currently a big proponent of not trading Randle.

  1. Knicks r very good but Randle is just eh, but up solid number on mediocre efficiency and hasn’t improved his assist to turnover ratio. McBride is also getting limited minutes and Kolek has looked fantastic, making McBride a piece the Knicks wish they could play but they just don’t have room.

  2. Jazz r in the 10-12 seed range w Lauri, realizing they r not nearly bad enough to tank for Flagg, but still are no where near ready to compete.

  3. Heat r in a play in spot and want to make the most of jimmy and bam and realize this current roster is not doing it. Jaime also shoots better from 3 this year(this is important).

Now with the baseline set, this trade allows all 3 teams to win.

Jazz: trade away Kessler who doesn’t fit the spacing the jazz want and Collins who does fit by the jazz prob don’t see as a long term fit. In return the jazz get 2 young players in hero and McBride jazz have shown interest in herro before and McBride is a great 3 and d guard who should fit the vibe the jazz r going for. Throw in a first because of course the jazz need a pick. Herro and Lauri should be very good offensively next to each other and should build an interesting foundation for the younger guys to grow into.

Knicks: if Randle isn’t making enough of an impact the Knicks would want an upgrade. W their draft capital left Idt that’s possible, so here the Knicks heavily bolster their front court. Jovic is a very solid and versatile defender who shot 40% from 3 last year and avg 2 assist per game in under 20mpg. Kessler is Kessler we’ve talked about him before. Collins is an interesting 4-5 who is known as a lob threat has a good amount of 3 point range(37% 3 last year 36% career) as well as good rebounding, even if the defense is lacking. These 3 players would all be able to play quality minutes in The normal rotation and possibly more importantly fill in effectively when injuries happen. I could imagine the closing lineup involves Brunson, Donte, Mikal, og, and 1 of those 3 guys mentioned above. This trade also allows Donte to start which is great as he is one of the best 3 point shooters in the league and a very good defender.

Heat: this is a gamble for the heat. They need more talent and Randle gives them that. Randle requires spacing and defense around them. Guys like bam jimmy and Jaime offer the defense, but idk if the spacing will be there. However Randle can take a large load off of jimmy and bam in the regular season and allow them to be their best I the post season. Idt this trade does enough to win them a chip but I def think it makes Miami better.
