An dream end to the Knicks offseason: trade moves that will never happen

So I'll reiterate from the title, this would never happen. The Nets would be taking on another young center and although all 3 (Mitch, Claxton, Sharpe) have had injury issues, it's probably not a great idea to have that many centers (unless your Portland). Add to that, it seems unlikely that Beasley will sign a smaller contract than what's out there and it's a Knicks-Nets trade which almost never happens (and when it does the cost to the Knicks is astronomical).....BUT! I think this would cement a great offseason and make this Knicks team fearsome.

Knicks: The Knicks lose Mitch, their longest tenured player and possibly the best rim protector and offensive rebounder in the NBA. But he's had his issues with his health and I still think the Knicks should lean into offense and KAT at the 5 is their best way to do that. Drummond is a solid backup and that's all that the Knicks should want at this point and can soak up backup minutes and can hold his own. A big part of this is clearing money to be able to raise what they can offer Beasley. It's still not the most he could make in the open market, but as has been raised elsewhere, the Knicks would be the only title contending team where he could be offered a starting position. He shot lights out from 3 last year and has the swagger and attitude that the Knicks arguably missed after Donte and Randle were traded. He isn't a great defender but does have his moments when he locks in. But his catch and shoot prowess has the potential to supercharge the Knicks offense. I put Beasley at a 2 year contract but the second year would be a player option so he could hit the open market if he wanted. I was able to boost his contract up to $9.5 if the Knicks signed someone like Diawara with the second round exception to get to 14 players (it's a little over $2 million). Honestly, I think this would be a title winning lineup as the Knicks would arguably be 10 deep and that's before any time for their young players (Kolek, Dadiet, Diawara and Hukporti). As OKC and the Pacers showed, depth can be a big difference and the Knicks would finally have an insane starting 5 AND a deep bench.

PG: Brunson, McBride, Kolek

SG: Beasley, Clarkson

SF: Bridges, Hart, Dadiet

PF: Anunoby, Yabusuele, Diawara

C: KAT, Drummond, Hukporti

Nets: The Nets are reportedly open to taking on salary for second round picks and this sees them get 2 second round picks and Mitch. As I said above, they probably won't want 3 centers who they'd have to find playing time for, what it could do is give them 3 centers they could potentially trade. Sharpe has shown promise and will be on a good number and as I said above, Mitch is possibly the best offensive rebounder and rim protector and is still young. With Cam Thomas accepting his qualifying offer, the Nets have room to take on more contract dollars and this could be it.

76ers: The 76ers do this because they're trying to duck the tax and open up more money to re-sign Grimes, it's as simple as that. It's something that's recently been reported on and the Knicks getting involved lowers the amount of second round picks they have to fork out.

Anyways, while I would love for this to happen, it's truly tough to see it being a reality. But a guy can dream!
